Her clever answer is Iva Jean, a line of functional clothing for women cyclists that works on and off your ride. DeOtte’s pieces employ just a few clever nips and tucks to seamlessly transition from road to office.

Cool idea for female cyclists
A Colorado company sees the future of tires on mountain bikes, and they are puncture-proof and airless. Britek Tire and Rubber also envisions mountain-bike riders as being in a far happier mood when they learn they can leave their patch kits and pumps at home. For several years the company has focused its prototyping efforts toward airless tires for automobiles but it is now turning its attention to working on airless tires for mountain bikes. Company founder and designer Brian Russell has several patents and more pending for his dream project, the Energy Return Wheel (ERW). In addition to not having to worry about punctures, he says people will find that ERW can deliver better efficiency.

There IS a Bicycle Economy, Two Cities Find
Portland, Oregon and New York City, two very different cities, are finding something similar about cyclists and pedestrians – they tend to spend a bit more money in local economies.
Transportation Alternatives has been promoting the ‘bicycle economy’ in New York’s East Village, finding that:
“Streets that promote bicycling and walking mean more business for local shops and restaurants,” said Paul Steely White, Executive Director of Transportation Alternatives (TA). “When it comes to the impact bike lanes have on local businesses, it’s a case of ‘if you build it, they will come.”

During my visit to Germany last month, I had a great opportunity to do some mountain biking with Gerhard. He introduced me to the mountain trails in the woods behind Heidelberg, and it was an experience to remember… fortunately I had carried my Contour Roam camera and captured some of the moments.
This was a ride on August 15th – celebrating India’s Independence day. Was great meeting so many cyclists in Mumbai
